What are you going to do to prepare for a trivia?Claus Andersen, QuizIndex.com

Just like training for a marathon, your brain needs exercise. And lots of it!

Did you expect to just enter a quiz and win it… just like that? I certainly hope not!

Think back to school, when you had a big test coming up…
Yup, you guessed it!

Study, study, and then study some more, to win games!

If you didn’t study before a test, chances are you would fail miserably. If you don’t study before a quiz, how do you expect to keep up with other players?

But how do you study for a trivia game if you don’t know the questions yet? Obviously, you are a smart person (after all, you are reading this) and you are smart enough to admit that you could use a few pointers.

I will give you some ideas of my own on how to begin. These are, for a starter, some areas you could study to improve your skills and win more quizzes - "be in the know":

  • Read the newspapers, everyday. Local news as well as national or global news is prominent for curveball questions.
  • Watch the news, everyday. The more you know, the more prepared you will be.

Topics to study:

  • Oscar awards (especially repeat winners)
  • Grammy awards (especially repeat winner)
  • Nobel Prize awards (especially repeat winners)
  • Emmy awards (especially repeat winners)
  • Music billboards (Top 20 Hits, etc. with a focus on the top 5 or 10)
  • Olympics Medalists (consider the country of origin and focus on the year and number of times winning)
  • Other sports award winners
  • Popular trends (Past and Present)

If you feel it is sometimes difficult to remember this endless list of facts (I know I do my self), you can try these programmes I found last year:

  • Memory improvement techniques - which is a memory training programme, 5 minutes a day, with fast results.
  • Brainfit for life - this well written e-book is filled with tools to excercise your brain - instant download at very low cost.

To help you find more ways to improve your trivia skills, I have written a small report packed with additional tips to learn from. You are welcome to download the report for free in the download section.
